Activity #1- Sing and Shake
We have been having a great time using our egg shakers in music class and you can do this at home too. Ask a family member to help you find something that you can shake as you sing and move to one of our favorite songs "I Know a Chicken".

Activity #2- Shake and Stop
Using the shaker that you made for activity number one, now play the Play and Stop Game! In music class we are learning about rests and that they are beats of silence. Make sure you stop or rest when the music tells you to!

In class the students have been working on keeping steady beat and adapting to changes in tempo when singing or playing. Students, find something that you can use as a beanbag (maybe even a beany baby or ball) and show your families how to do the Tap it Here Song!

Activity #1- All About Dynamics
In grade two we have been learning all about dynamics and have been practicing our Italian music words using our Italian accents. Practice saying the music terms with your Italian accents and then sing and move to the super silly "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt".

Who doesn't love fast food? Sing along and do the actions for the song A Pizza Hut. Then using the setting wheel choose a different tempo or speed to sing the song. How fast or slow can you go?

Activity #3- Rhythm Play Along- In class we are learning that "rhythm is the way the words go". When we did this in class we played the rhythms using our MOE's cups. At home you can clap the rhythms or find a plastic cup of your own to play with!

Chumbara was a class favorite this term. With silly words and changing rhythmic patterns it was a hit with all the kids.

Activity #2 Sing and Move- Get a small ball, beanbag or stuffed animal and sing and practice the actions for Plainsies Clapsies. Remember to listen to your music and try to keep up with the tempo changes.

In music class we have been drumming up a storm with our new drumsticks and our bubble gum buckets. To do this at home grab a plastic bowl or bucket and something to drum with and practice your drumming skills with the Bouncing Ball Beat game!
